WE ARE NOT MEANT TO STAY THE SAME.

HOW CAN WE REDEFINE THE WAY WE VIEW NOT JUST A GARMENT, BUT THE PERCEPTION OF ONESELF? WE DO THIS BY CHALLENGING OUR CURRENT PERSPECTIVE AND SHIFTING OUR UNDERSTANDING OF FASHION. INSTEAD OF CONFORMING OUR BODY TO FIT OUR CLOTHES, OUR CLOTHES SHOULD CONFORM TO FIT OUR BODY. THEY SHOULD BE DYNAMIC, ADAPTING ALONG WITH US, NOT STAGNANT AND FIGHTING BACK.

THAT IS WHAT MEDLESS AND THIS ESMOD PARIS THIRD YEAR FINAL COLLECTION, VOLUME O : ALTERED STATE, IS ALL ABOUT. IT EMPHASIZES THE IDEA OF EMBRACING WHO WE ARE IN THE MOMENT, NOT NECESSARILY WHO WE FEEL LIKE WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE.

AS HUMANS, OUR BODIES FLUCTUATE IN WEIGHT. WHETHER FROM BLOATING AFTER EATING, SIDE EFFECTS OF MEDICATIONS, SYMPTOMS OF AN ILLNESS, ETC., THESE REALITIES OFTEN AFFECT THE WAY OUR CLOTHES FITS, SOMETIMES EVEN THROUGHOUT THE DAY. MY PERSONAL BATTLE WITH MY OWN BODY IS WHAT ULTIMATELY INSPIRED THIS COLLECTION, COMPELLING ME TO CREATE CLOTHING THAT ADAPTS TO OUR BODIES. THEY ARE NOT ONE-SIZE-FITS-ALL GARMENTS, BUT GARMENTS THAT, WITHIN EACH SIZE, POSSESS A RANGE OF FITS FOR YOU AND YOUR DYNAMIC BODY. BY APPROACHING FASHION IN THIS WAY, IT NOT ONLY INVITES MORE ROOM FOR SUSTAINABILITY, BUT PERMITS CREATIVE EXPERIMENTATION THROUGHOUT THE DESIGN PROCESS.

BY OPENING OUR EYES, BY EMBRACING FLUIDITY AND METAMORPHIC STAGES, ONLY THEN CAN WE ACCEPT THAT TRANSFORMATION DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN ERADICATION. MEDLESS VOLUME O : ALTERED STATE IS NOT ABOUT ERASING ONESELF, BUT EMERGING FROM ONE STATE TO THE NEXT. IT MEANS ACCEPTING EVERY STAGE YOU EVOLVE FROM AND INTO AND INVITING CHANGE WITHOUT HESITATION. FOR THE REALITY IS, TRANSFORMATION IS A PART OF LIFE. AS INDIVIDUALS, AND AS A SOCIETY, WE ARE NOT MEANT TO STAY THE SAME.

IF WE ARE NOT MEANT TO STAY THE SAME, THEN WHY SHOULD WE EXPECT OUR CLOTHES TO?
